Gather(in) Memory

I am humbled to appear in the opening credits for the forthcoming film, Gather(in) Memory, by Hosaena Tilahun. Hosaena is a photographer, documentarian, and geographer-in-training born in Jimma, ET and based in the DMV/Philly. They are currently a Ph.D student in Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. The film, produced in collaboration with Germantown InfoHub and the Center for Experimental Ethnography at UPenn, captures hyperlocal heritage programming at the J.E. Coleman Library in Germantown. Amidst top-down celebrations of 250th, Philly residents redefine what it means to co-archive, preserve, and strengthen our community memory institutions. Below is an excerpt from the film, which is currently in post-production.
